The Vision Prayer - Diana Cooper - for 11.11.11

posted 13 Nov 2011 10:28 by Nicola Bourke ‎(East Lothian Yoga School)‎   [ updated 13 Nov 2011 10:28 ]

This is the prayer I read out at the end of the short peace and joy meditation we did during all yoga classes week commencing 4th November 2011.    Written by Diana Cooper, link to her website below.

The Vision Prayer

I have a vision where all people are at peace, fed and housed, every child is loved and educated to develop their talents, where the heart is more important than the head and wisdom is revered over riches.

In this world justice, equality and fairness rule.

Nature is honoured, so the waters flow pure and clear and the air is fresh and clean. Plants and trees are nurtured and all animals are respected and treated with kindness. Happiness and laughter prevail

And humans walk hand in hand with angels.

Thank you for the love, understanding, wisdom, courage and humility to do my part to spread the light.

May all the world ascend.

So be it.

"Inhale, and God approaches you. Hold the inhalation, and God remains with you. Exhale, and you approach God. Hold the exhalation, and surrender to God."

Beautiful words for mothers and mothers-to-be

I loved you the minute I heard you were coming.

I loved you the minute you were born;

Then I saw your face and fell in love some more.

You were only a minute old, but I knew I would die for you and to this day I still would.

When you choose to have a child, you make a conscious decision to allow your heart to walk around outside of your body.

An Ancient Sanskrit Poem - Look well to this day

posted 23 Feb 2011 05:17 by Nicola Bourke ‎(East Lothian Yoga School)‎   [ updated 23 Feb 2011 05:18 ]

Look well to this day
For it is life
The very best of life.
In its brief course lie all
The realities and truths of existence,
The joy of growth, the splendour of action,
The glory of power.
For yesterday is but a memory.
And tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived
Makes every yesterday a memory of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore to this day.
