East Lothian Yoga School

Hello!  My name is Nicola and I am a Yoga and Pilates teacher based in East Lothian.   I have been teaching Yoga since 2009 and Pilates was a new addition in 2021.  I love practicing and teaching both.   Pilates gives me more functional movement and more creativity.  It's more of a physical practice for me.  Yoga gives me the nervous system calming element and I focus less on the physical benefits although they do of course exist.  

I teach classes all across the county including West Barns, Haddington and Gullane.  I am also available for one to ones and small groups.  

I teach and practice what can be called a slow and mindful style of yoga.  Over the years my practice has become less about a work out and more about feeling calm, grounded and nurtured.  And this is what I teach.  It's amazing.  The feeling of calm and peace at the end of a yoga class is second to none.  

As well as Hatha Yoga I teach

I feel incredibly lucky to have learned a very sympathetic style of Pilates, one with lots of movement enquiry, one that puts breathing first and foremost and which offers similar levels of mindfulness and awareness.  I find that Pilates compliments Yoga particularly well and has benefitted my Yoga practice and teaching.
